Mussel, Flora and the History of Danish Ceramics — Lecture and Demonstration of Painting Technique
Get a unique insight into the craftsmanship and history behind iconic frames such as Musselmalet Riflet and Flora Danica when the glazing painters Marlene Jørgensen and Verica Zelcev from Royal Copenhagen visit CLAY.
The evening starts with a short lecture on Musselmalets Riflet and other stories from the Royal Copenhagen Collection at the CLAY Ceramics Museum by Director of Dissemination, Anders Kolt Rasmussen.
Then Marlene and Verica demonstrate the painting techniques used in the production of Musselmalet Riflet, Flora Danica, Blå Mega, Blå Elements and the factory's new collection, Tailored Heritage.
Along the way, Verica and Marlene talk about working with the special techniques and methods used at the factory in Glostrup, which only very few people master today.
It is possible to buy drinks and a selection of cakes in Café CLAY before the event starts at 4.30 pm.
